2. Requirements

The Edge One™ Platform requires the following:

1. SmartPlug™ version 1.0.8 or higher.

2. System hardware:

• Processor:

• 1.0 Ghz x86
• 64-bit, Quad-core ARM SoC, running up to 900 MHz.

• Memory:

• 512MB of RAM without the Flows Module on x86 machines.
• 1GB of RAM with the Flows Module on x86 machines, or for operation on supported ARM processors.
• Min 2GB of RAM, 4GB recommended when using the OPC UA, OPC DA or PI-JDBC modules.
• Min 4GB of RAM when using the Rules Module.

• 512MB of storage.
• Networking capability. One or more of the following interfaces:

1. Ethernet
2. WiFi
3. 3G / 4G connectivity

3. Linux Operating System for 64-bit processors. The following versions are currently supported:

• Ubuntu Server 16.04 or higher.
• Ubuntu Snappy.
• Debian.
• Raspbian.

Support for additional versions of Linux can be added upon customer request.

4. Docker CE or EE for Ubuntu, versions 17.06 and higher.

5. The following network ports must be open when using a firewall in the network where Edge One will be installed:

For the SmartPlug agent:

• TCP port 17000 (used by the PlugNet protocol.)

For Edge One:

• TCP ports 443 (HTTP over TLS), 8443, 8883 (MQTT).

For Docker:

• TCP port 80.

6. Internet Connection. Edge One™ requires an Internet connection for installation and initial configuration. Once it is registered with CloudPlugs and has acquired a License, it can operate Offline.
