What is the Hardware ID?

The Hardware ID is the serial number of a Production Thing provided by the user in a Production Template. Each Production Thing in a Production template is identified by a unique Hardware ID or serial number.

Hardware IDs/serial numbers are added manually by the user in the Production Template. However, since adding a large number of Hardware ID’s or serial numbers by hand can be a tedious procedure, they can be uploaded in bulk from a comma separated file (CSV) using the Bulk actions ()

button of the Production Template.

Duplicate hardware ID’s or serial numbers are not allowed by the platform.
